Tuesdays, June 18 & July 9, 6 p.m.
The Green Mountain Bicycle Club will sponsor practice criteriums at Watertower Hill in Colchester on Tuesdays, June 18 and July 9. Those with lower or no ranking ride for 35 minutes starting at 6 p.m. This is a great way for novices to try their race legs. Faster racers, who are ranked Category 1, 2 or 3, race for 45 minutes starting at 6:45 p.m. Practice criteriums are different from other races in that cyclists ride for a specified time and are scored on how many laps they complete. The entry fee is $10 and $5 for juniors and full-time college students. No race license is needed. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes 10 minutes before the start of the race.
